The SecurTag™ tag is designed with an active transmitter that allows the system to read tag as far as 500 feet.  The tags are available in many forms and enclosures to meet most requirements.

The SecurTag™ tags are programmed with an unique ID number and update interval, which can include an “end-of-life” counter that allows a user to pre-determine the tag’s active life.  The tags can be configured to trigger a transmission on any of its digital input ports.  The keyfob version allows a user to depress up to two buttons or an optional vibration/motion sensor can be installed that allows the tag to sleep until it is moved. 

As the manufacture of the SecurTag™, Gateway can redesign the tag's foot print to meet a project's requirements. Currently, the tag is available in a verity of enclosures: keyfob with two optional buttons, sealed box, watchband and ID card. The ID card is also available with an optional GEN 2 passive RFID.

The SecurTag™ reader is capable of calculating the signal strength of a tag and determining it’s relative location when deploying multiple readers. The Reader provides an array of output options: RS-232, Ethernet and wireless.  With the optional relay, a Reader can use it to alert curtain conditions or control an exterinal device base on a tag's status.
