Electronic Monitoring of Offenders

To help over crowding counties, states and federal jails, Gateway is developing an electronic monitoring for offenders that incorporates GPS, cellular and bi-metrics voice identification called Roll Call(SM).

An adult or juvenile offender is provided a GPS enabled cell phone that reports the activity of the offender during their release from jail.  Prior to their release, a parole officer creates geofences based on addresses and time of day of an offender's itinerary such as when an offender needs to be at work, school or at any other approved locations.  Then through out the day, a service is making sure the offenders are at their proper locations.

At random times created by the parole officer or the service determines an offender is not at the correct location, the service will call their supplied cell phone to verify the offender is at the reported location.  Also, the service can call the offender to remind them of important court dates.
